Sunrise Xinyi Branch
About This Spot
Stepping into Sunrise Xinyi Branch feels like entering a quietly vibrant world perched high above Taipei’s bustling Xinyi District. Tucked away on the ninth floor of the Far Eastern Mall, this buffet restaurant carries a refined yet welcoming rhythm, where the soft hum of conversations blends seamlessly with the occasional gentle clatter of plates and subtle tips from attentive staff moving briskly but unobtrusively among diners.
The atmosphere here settles into an easy blend of casual discovery and thoughtful indulgence. It’s a place where you can meander slowly through an array of thoughtfully curated Japanese and Taiwanese-inspired offerings—each station inviting a pause, an exchange with chefs, or a quiet moment to appreciate the subtle artistry in freshly torched sushi or a bowl of delicately simmered clam soup. There’s a gentle conviviality in the space, as though shared appreciation for thoughtful, well-executed food forms an unspoken bond among visitors.
Sunrise’s pace feels measured rather than hurried. Though it’s a buffet, the care in preparation is palpable: seafood arrives frequently replenished and fresh, grilled items carry just the right hint of char to deepen flavors without overwhelming, and small, crafted treats like the Eastern Beauty tea parfait or handmade ice cream add unexpected moments of delight. The open kitchen areas invite quiet curiosity, letting diners catch glimpses of chefs expertly searing scallops or assembling nigiri with calm precision.
This is a spot where the bustle of a busy city fades slightly, replaced by a nuanced culinary journey that rewards both the casual sampler and the dedicated enthusiast. Staff move with a warmth and professionalism that makes you feel quietly cared for, offering a human touch to the experience without ever overshadowing the food’s voice.
Whether you’re seated with a view of the city’s glowing skyline or nestled in a cozy corner, Sunrise Xinyi Branch invites you to slow down, explore with your senses, and savor the layered moments of a shared meal that’s both familiar and quietly special.

Sunrise at Xinyi Far Eastern Mall offers an upscale buffet experience with a broad selection of Japanese and Taiwanese-inspired dishes. The seafood, especially the sashimi and prawns was fresh and frequently replenished. Grilled items like squid and yakitori were flavorful with a pleasant char, and the stinky tofu was a bold, surprisingly well-executed highlight. Although not all dishes were impressive, the overall quality and variety make it a solid choice for group dining or special occasions.

Extremely nice buffet, highly recommend it. There are a lot of options, especially with the sushi. You can only order 3 torched sushi at a time but I highly recommend going again and again. I recommend the scallop and salmon (They understood English too!) There are also full crab bodies that are full of the eggs, which are delicious. The service itself is great, they frequently come and pick up your plates and cups.

Food was good, but not great. The staff was friendly and nice, but they didn't have enough people to grab empty plates. For the money, I'd choose something else. Nothing was really outstanding to eat, pretty basic. The didn't taste very fresh, but the sashimi/salmon was great. You will do a lot of walking and waiting in lines too. They have some fancy looking, robot-like, carts for busing tables, but they are just for looks. I didn't like that I had to hand my empty plates to lazy employees when they could just grab it themselves.

I could eat here everyday! The staff was extremely professional and quick and choice of food is phenomenal. Can't wait to go back to Taiwan for this experience in the future.

On the 9th floor of a more upscale mall. There are lots of options with sashimi, sushi, salads, tempura staion, grilled meat/seafood station, cooked food station, individually made to order soups and nigiri. Even with their cooked foods, you see them making everything in small batches to ensure the quality. Some stations do run out at times but there are plenty of other things to go to while they are replenishing. The drink station has made to order cocktails and coffee, as well as having a variety of hot and cold teas of your choosing. As for kids, there are brown sugar milk tea, sodas in a can, calpis variety, and some fruit juices to choose from. Dessert includes 3 stations: fruit and pastries, ice cream stations (I think there were like 10+ flavors (taro, sesame, chocolate, matcha, vanilla, peanut, passion fruit, etc.), and a fancy counter top station with bite size desserts that are superb. It was $1390NT for weekday lunch at 11:30am-2pm, which is like $46 USD for an adult. It's so worth it.

For the amount of price given, I would highly recommend you to try this place! It is an all you can eat place that serves enormous amount of food. I dont really like the steak as it was cold when it was served to me, so taste little rubbery. If it was hot, I think it would taste amazing! Variety of the meat is available for you so it was a wholesome experience. They served a lot of seafood you can choose from sushi, boiled king crab and other fresh oyster / scallop and many more! They have grilled station (must try the grilled mochi!), fried station, soup station, dessert station, and bar the icecream, wagashi is really good. The coin bread taste okay. very creative and highly artistic for an all you can eat place. definitely try the cocktail here as well, its very delightful! Overall, I would say 5/5 experience and I would definitely eat here again. Make sure to make reservations first. It is at the 9th floor.

An excellent Japanese buffet with an impressively large and fresh spread, offering a wide variety of well-prepared dishes. Service was extremely prompt, with plates cleared efficiently throughout the meal, making the dining experience very comfortable. There is also a bar serving both alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, which adds to the overall enjoyment. Reservations need to be made about a month in advance, as slots fill up quickly once booking opens. Dining runs from 5:30pm till 9:00pm, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the full spread at a relaxed pace.
